After Germany, Great Britain and Norway, Sweden has now also signed the special multilateral RID 2/2022 agreement in accordance with section 1.5.1 RID on the rail transport of the monkeypox virus. It can therefore be used in these countries.

The special multilateral agreement RID 2/2022 facilitates the transport of monkeypox virus in rail transport: by way of derogation from point 2.2.62.1.4.1, point 3.2.1 (Table A, list of dangerous goods) and chapter 4.1 of the RID, infectious substances containing monkeypox virus, with the exception of monkeypox virus cultures, can be registered under UN number 3373 or UN number 3291.

The sender must note in the transport document: "Transport according to the special multilateral convention RID 2/2022".

The agreement is valid in all signatory countries until 31 December 2025.
