Monkeypox: Spain also signs M347

The special multilateral agreement M347 facilitates the transport of the monkeypox virus by road.

On 27 June 2022, Germany initiated the special multilateral agreement M347 on the transport of the monkeypox virus by road. Therefore, by way of derogation from paragraph 2.2.62.1.4.1, at point 3.2.1. (Table A, List of dangerous goods) and in Chapter 4.1 of the ADR infectious substances containing monkeypox virus (except crops) are transported under UN 3373 and UN 3291 respectively.

The sender must note in the transport document: "Transport according to multilateral agreement M347".

After Great Britain, Norway, Austria, and Switzerland, Spain is now the next country to sign this agreement.

The agreement is valid until 31 December 2025 in the signatory countries.
